Iventi Ophthalmic Solution is used for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of the following organisms:
- Aerobic Gram-positive microorganisms: Corynebacterium species, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus hominis, Staphylococcus warneri, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus viridans group.
- Aerobic Gram-negative microorganisms: Acinetobacter lwoffii, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae.
- Other microorganisms: Chlamydia trachomatis.
Additionally, it is highly effective for intraocular injection in the prevention of postoperative bacterial endophthalmitis.
Use as directed by a registered physician.
Moxifloxacin works by inhibiting two essential bacterial enzymes:
- Topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase): Crucial for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair.
- Topoisomerase IV: Plays a significant role in the partitioning of chromosomal DNA during bacterial cell division.
This dual inhibition disrupts bacterial DNA processes, resulting in the death of susceptible bacteria.
