Ketocid 600 is a nutritional supplement used in the management of chronic kidney disease patients on conservative management therapy (CKD stage I, II, III). It is also used in patients with diabetic nephropathy. It contains Alpha Ketoanalogue as an active ingredient, which tends to maintain nitrogen levels and serve as one of the nutrients for Chronic Kidney Disease patients.
Ketoanalogue consists of amino acids and calcium amino acid compounds, which make use of the nitrogen in non-essential amino acids and turn them into essential amino acids to reduce the production of urea nitrogen and relieve the buildup of nitrogenous wastes and other toxic substances in the body. Ketoanalogue, when added to very low protein diets for patients with chronic kidney disease, may reduce the risk of commencing long-term dialysis or of developing the composite outcome in patients with advanced CKD, especially when used at an appropriate dosage.
