Linzolid IV is an effective antibiotic for treating severe bacterial infections but should be used cautiously, especially during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and in patients with kidney or liver disease.
Linzolid 600 IV Infusion
- Infections caused by Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecium, including cases with concomitant bacteremia.
- Nosocomial pneumonia caused by Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible and -resistant strains) or Streptococcus pneumoniae, including multi-drug resistant strains. Combination treatment may be necessary if Gram-negative organisms are present.
- Infections of the skin and skin structure caused by Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible and methicillin-resistant strains), Streptococcus pyogenes, or Streptococcus agalactiae, including diabetic foot infections (without accompanying osteomyelitis).
- Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible only) or Streptococcus pyogenes infections of the skin and skin structure.
- Community-acquired pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (including multi-drug resistant strains), including cases with concomitant bacteremia or Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible strains only).
