Baclofen is used for muscle relaxation. It treats muscle spasms that may occur in diseases affecting the nervous system, such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, or injury to the head, brain, or spine.
- Lioresal, containing Baclofen, is used to treat spasticity resulting from multiple sclerosis, flexor spasms, clonus, muscular rigidity, skeletal muscle spasms from rheumatic disorders, spinal cord injuries, cerebrovascular accidents, and certain brain diseases.
- Before taking Lioresal, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, hypertension, or any problems with your lung, liver, kidney, or heart.
- You must also inform your doctor if you have fits, problems in urination, any mental illness, or a previous history of alcoholism or drug abuse.
