Luliconazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent from the azole group. It works by inhibiting lanosterol demethylase, an enzyme needed for ergosterol synthesis, a crucial component of the fungal cell membrane. By disrupting this process, Luliconazole kills the fungus and prevents its growth.
It has strong antifungal activity both in vitro (lab studies) and in vivo (real-world use) against dermatophytes, Candida albicans, Malassezia spp, Trichophyton, and Epidermophyton spp.
Lulizol Lotion is used for the topical treatment of fungal skin infections, including:
✔ Interdigital tinea pedis (athlete’s foot)
✔ Tinea cruris (jock itch)
✔ Tinea corporis (ringworm)
It is effective against Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum, the primary organisms responsible for these infections.
