Description

Lura is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia and depressive episodes associated with Bipolar disorder. It works through a combination of dopamine Type 2 (D2) and serotonin Type-2 (5HT2A) receptor antagonism, though its exact mechanism is unknown.

  • Schizophrenia: Start with 40 mg once daily with food (at least 350 calories). Maximum dose: 160 mg/day.
  • Bipolar Depression: Start with 20 mg once daily, either as monotherapy or with lithium/valproate. Maximum dose: 120 mg/day.
