Mirogabalin selectively binds to the α2δ subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). This reduces calcium entry into nerve cells and decreases the release of pain-transmitting neurotransmitters from presynaptic nerve endings, helping to reduce nerve pain.
Magolin 10 mg Tablet (Mirogabalin Besylate) is used to relieve neuropathic (nerve) pain, including:
- Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (DPNP)
- Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN)
- Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (PNP)
Use this medicine only as prescribed by a registered physician.
- Adults: The usual starting dose is 5 mg twice daily.
- The dose may be increased by 5 mg at intervals of at least one week until reaching 15 mg twice daily.
- Depending on the patient’s age, symptoms, and response to treatment, the maintenance dose may be adjusted between 10 mg and 15 mg twice daily.
Take the medicine exactly as directed by your doctor.
- Mirogabalin does not significantly induce or inhibit cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzymes.
- Cimetidine and Probenecid may increase Mirogabalin blood concentrations.
- Taking Mirogabalin with Lorazepam or alcohol may enhance drowsiness and other central nervous system (CNS) depressant effects.
Do not use Magolin if you:
- Are allergic to Mirogabalin or any of its ingredients.
- Have mild to moderate hepatic or renal impairment (as stated in the provided source).
