Description

Flupenthixol+Melitracen is used in the treatment of Depression.

Meltix is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Apathy, and Dysphoria. It increases the level of chemical messengers in the brain, which have a calming effect on the brain and relaxes the nerves, thus treating depression.

  • Usually 2 tablets daily; morning and noon. Maintenance dose: Usually 1 tablet in the morning.
  •  Immediate recovery phase after myocardial infarction, untreated narrow-angle glaucoma, acute alcohol, barbiturate, and opiate intoxications.
  • Flupentixol inhibits dopamine-mediated effects, while Melitracen is a TCA with anxiolytic properties.
  • Withdraw tranquilizers gradually if previously used.
  • May potentiate adverse effects of antimuscarinic drugs, reduce the efficacy of levodopa, and increase extrapyramidal symptoms with dopamine antagonists.
