Description

Mometasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by suppressing the release and action of inflammatory mediators such as histamine and prostaglandins. This helps decrease swelling, mucus production, and airway or nasal irritation.

Mometasone is used for:

  • Allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial)
  • Nasal polyps
  • Asthma prophylaxis (prevention, not for acute attacks)

If you forget a dose of Metamist use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take it in the regular schedule instead of taking the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one, as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
