Minocycline is used in the treatment of Bacterial Infections.
Minocin 100 contains Minocycline, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage certain bacterial infections affecting the ears, eyes, throat, nose, and respiratory system (chest infections), gonorrhea, pelvic infections, skin infections (such as acne), urinary tract infections, and prostate infections. It is also used to manage meningitis carriers and infections before and after operations.
Minocin 100 should be used with caution in adults and adolescents but is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12 years.
- Use with caution if you have liver or kidney problems.
- If you experience symptoms like headache and visual disturbances, seek medical attention as these could be signs of increased intracranial pressure.
- Rare cases of auto-immune hepatotoxicity and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) have been reported. Discontinue use if symptoms develop.
- Report any unusual pigmentation to your doctor promptly.
