Montene contains Montelukast, an oral leukotriene receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the CysLT1 receptor. Leukotrienes, derived from arachidonic acid, contribute to the inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus production seen in asthma and allergic rhinitis. By blocking these receptors, Montene helps reduce inflammation and eases breathing.
