Mycofast Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) and other fungal infections in patients 12 years of age and older, caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum.
An athlete’s foot is a condition with a fungal infection of the skin involving the feet and in-between the toes. A fungal infection of the skin occurs when the fungus invades the skin tissue. Fungal infections can be contagious and spread from one person to another. Symptoms include skin irritation, scaly skin, redness, itching, scaly or flaky patches, and swelling. The most common type of fungal infections are ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, athlete’s foot, and yeast infections.
Mycofast 2% Cream contains Sertaconazole, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungal agents. It is used to manage an athlete’s foot (tinea pedis).Â
Your doctor may also advise you to follow personal hygiene habits such as not sharing used clothes and washing your hands before and after managing the infected area to manage the spread of infection to other areas in the body or another person.
Do not use Mycofast 2% Cream if you have had an allergic reaction to sertaconazole. Mycofast 2% Cream should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Mycofast 2% Cream is not recommended for use in children less than 12 years of age.
