Neocort Skin Ointment is a dermatological medicine utilized for the treatment of various bacterial skin infections. These infections occur when bacteria infiltrate hair follicles or broken skin, leading to symptoms such as redness, pain, tenderness, bumps or boils, rashes, blisters, cracked/dry skin, swelling, stinging or burning sensation, pus formation, and itching.

  • Betamethasone: Belongs to the corticosteroid class, blocking the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) responsible for redness, swelling, and itching. It effectively treats inflammation and itchiness associated with skin infections.
  • Neomycin: An aminoglycoside antibiotic that hinders the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria, preventing them from carrying out vital functions.

  • Topical application (for skin) as advised by the doctor.
  • Avoid use on open wounds, blisters, or lesions.
  • Do not cover the affected areas with a dressing or bandage to prevent increased side effects.
  • In case of contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina, rinse with cold water.
