Omidon D Orally Dispersible Tablet contains Domperidone, which is classified as a Dopamine antagonist. It is primarily used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with various causes such as central or local origin, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, certain medications, and migraines.
Nausea and vomiting are not specific diseases but rather symptoms that can occur due to various conditions such as infections, food poisoning, motion sickness, overeating, intestinal blockage, migraines, and indigestion, among others.
Omidon D Tablet can also provide relief from postprandial symptoms like fullness, nausea, bloating in the upper abdomen, and burping, which may be accompanied by stomach discomfort and heartburn.
However, it is important to note that Omidon D Tablet is not recommended for use in patients with heart or moderate to severe liver diseases, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, intestinal blockage or tear, and tumors in the pituitary gland (prolactinoma). Caution should be exercised when using Omidon D Tablet in patients with kidney diseases.
Pregnant women should use Omidon D Tablet with caution, and breastfeeding women should only use it if deemed necessary by their doctor. It is advisable to seek the doctor’s advice before taking the medication. Elderly patients (above 60 years of age) should also use Omidon D Tablet with caution.
Omidon D Tablet should not be administered to children below 12 years of age or weighing less than 35kg. It is important to consult the child’s doctor in such cases. The most common side effect of Omidon D Tablet is a dry mouth. If this side effect worsens or does not improve, it is recommended to consult with a doctor.
