Bilastine is a long-acting, selective H₁ receptor antagonist with high binding affinity—3x higher than Cetirizine and 5x higher than Fexofenadine. It has:

  • No sedative effects
  • No significant activity on muscarinic, serotonergic, dopaminergic, or other histamine receptor subtypes (H2, H3, H4)
  • No hepatic metabolism
  • Excretion: ~66% via feces, ~28% via urine
