- Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection belongs to a class of drugs called antiemetics used to prevent nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.
- Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection contains Palonosetron which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting center (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.
- Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, you may experience diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, or headache. Most of these side effects of Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
- If you are allergic to Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection may be given to children above 1 month in doses as advised by a doctor based on the child’s body weight. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection. Drive only if you are alert as Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection may cause tiredness or dizziness. You are recommended to avoid heavy meals and take small nourishing snacks throughout the day. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection contains Palonosetron which belongs to a group of medicines called Serotonin antagonists. It is used to control nausea and vomiting that occurs as a result of chemotherapy (treatment of cancer). Paloxi-IV 0.25 Injection is also used for Postoperative nausea and vomiting following surgery.
