Precodil contains prednisolone, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by:
- Inhibiting the movement of polymorphonuclear leukocytes
- Decreasing capillary permeability
- Suppressing the immune response by reducing lymphocyte and eosinophil activity.
Precodil is used to treat inflammation and redness of the eyes caused by infection, allergy, or other conditions responsive to steroids. It is particularly indicated in:
- Conjunctivitis
- Steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea, and anterior segment of the eye.
