Oenothera biennis, a perennial herb, derives its name from its unique habit of opening flowers between six and seven o’clock in the evening. Rich in essential unsaturated fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) of the omega-6 series, it serves as a precursor of prostaglandin E1.

Prima 1000mg (EPO) enhances the composition of essential fatty acids (EFA) in various bodily lipids. It positively influences α-tocopherol levels and increases total fat and EFA content in mother’s milk. It maintains normal cellular structures, serving as a precursor to dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA), which plays a crucial role in the synthesis of prostanoids. In vitro, it exhibits cytostatic activity on malignant cell lines and suppresses cancer cell proliferation, particularly in human osteogenic sarcoma cells.
