Probis Plus is prescribed for the management of hypertension.

Probis Plus combines Bisoprolol Fumarate, a β1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoceptor blocker, with Hydrochlorothiazide, a benzothiadiazine diuretic. Used together, these agents produce an additive antihypertensive effect. Even at a low dose of Hydrochlorothiazide (6.25 mg), the blood pressure–lowering action of Bisoprolol is significantly enhanced, with reduced risk of hypokalemia compared to higher thiazide doses.

  • Bisoprolol Fumarate: Lowers blood pressure by blocking β1 receptors, reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output.
  • Hydrochlorothiazide: Inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in the renal tubules, promoting diuresis and reducing plasma volume, which lowers blood pressure.
