Rabeprazole inhibits gastric acid secretion by selectively blocking the H⁺/K⁺-H/K-ATPase enzyme system (“proton pump”) of gastric parietal cells, leading to potent and sustained reduction of gastric acidity.
Rabeca is indicated for:
- Active duodenal and benign gastric ulcers
- Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Long-term management and symptomatic relief of GERD
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection (with appropriate antibiotics)
