- Remus 0.1% 10gm is an eczema treatment (atopic dermatitis). It works by inhibiting the activity of certain immune cells that cause skin inflammation (redness and swelling). In atopic dermatitis, this relieves itching and improves rashes.
- Remus 0.1% Ointment is used for external use. It should be used 2-4 times a day on the affected area or used as suggested by the doctor. It should be applied slowly and evenly to the skin until it is rubbed in. You should not use it too often and you should not cover the treated area with a bandage or plaster. You must inform your doctor if there’s no improvement even after two weeks of treatment or if the skin gets worse.
It is a safe medicine with few side effects, but you may get an application sites reaction like burning, irritation, itching, and redness. This medicine is not normally recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding unless it is clearly needed.
Tacrolimus treatment has been demonstrated for short-term and discontinuous long-term treatment of patients with direct to severe atopic dermatitis in whom the use of elective, routine treatments is deemed unwise due to potential risks, or in the treatment of patients who are insufficiently responsive to or intolerant of elective, routine treatments. Tacrolimus treatment is additionally demonstrated in other skin conditions such as persistent cutaneous graft-vs-host illness, hand and foot dermatitis, unfavorably susceptible contact dermatitis, vitiligo, psoriasis, lichen planus, facial lichen, vulvar lichen sclerosus, pyoderma gangrenosum, leg ulcers in rheumatoid joint pain, steroid-induced rosacea & alopecia areata, annular erythema, unremitting actinic dermatitis, and obstinate facial erythema.
