Indications for Scabo 6 mg
Strongyloidiasis of the intestinal tract: Scabo 6 mg is prescribed to treat intestinal strongyloidiasis caused by the parasite Strongyloides stercoralis. This indication is supported by clinical studies (comparative and open-label) showing a cure rate of 64-100% in patients after a single dose of 200 mcg/kg.
Onchocerciasis: Scabo 6 mg is used to treat onchocerciasis caused by the parasite Onchocerca volvulus. This use is based on randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, and comparative studies involving 1,427 patients from onchocerciasis-endemic areas in West Africa. Some studies compared its effectiveness with diethylcarbamazine citrate (DEC-C).
