Sinazid 80 should be taken regularly at the same time each day, preferably with food or just before a main meal. Do not stop the medicine without medical advice, even if blood sugar levels improve, as this may lead to poor glycemic control and complications.
It is only part of a complete diabetes management plan, which should also include:
- A balanced diet
- Regular physical activity
- Weight management
Sinazid 80 is not recommended for pregnant women
Sinazid 80 mg is an oral antidiabetic medicine used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It belongs to the sulfonylurea class, which helps control blood glucose levels and reduces the risk of long-term diabetic complications such as kidney damage, nerve problems, and vision loss.
It may be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications as prescribed by a physician.
The usual initial dose is 40 to 80 mg daily. The dose can be increased up to 320 mg daily in divided doses when needed. The drug should be taken before meal. For children, Gliclazide is not used because it is contraindicated in juvenile-onset diabetes.
