Tacrolimus works by binding to FKBP-12, a protein within cells. This forms a complex with calcium, calmodulin, and calcineurin, inhibiting the enzyme’s phosphatase activity. This inhibition prevents the activation of nuclear factors like NF-AT and NF-κB, which are critical in T-cell activation. As a result, the production and release of cytokines such as interleukins (IL-1β to IL-10), tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and interferon-gamma are suppressed. Tacrolimus also blocks IL-2 receptor expression, reduces nitric oxide release, and promotes apoptosis and transforming growth factor-beta production, leading to decreased T-cell activation and immune response.
Tacrocap 1 is prescribed to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs, such as the liver, kidney, or heart. Organ rejection occurs when the immune system identifies the transplanted organ as foreign and attempts to attack it.
Tacrocap 1 contains Tacrolimus, which works by suppressing the activity of T and B lymphocytes—immune cells responsible for attacking foreign substances. By doing so, Tacrocap 1 helps prevent organ rejection and supports the body in accepting the transplanted organ.
Take Tacrocap 1 as directed by your doctor. Use the medication for the duration recommended based on your condition. While taking this medication, you may experience side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, headache, kidney problems, infection, fever, constipation, or high blood pressure. Most side effects are mild and resolve over time, but consult your doctor if they persist or worsen.

Avoid alcohol while on this medication. Use caution when driving or operating machinery, as Tacrocap 1 may cause vision disturbances or nervous system issues.
Notify your doctor if you plan to receive a vaccine while taking this medication. Tacrocap 1 can increase the risk of infections or skin cancer due to its immune-suppressing effects.
