Atorvastatin 10mg is used to manage:
- high blood cholesterol levels
- the risk of heart attack, stroke, angina, or related health problems
Taven 10 effectively lowers levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a role in cholesterol production in the body. For optimal results, it is recommended to pair this treatment with a cholesterol-lowering diet, healthy lifestyle changes, and regular physical activity as advised by your doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol or grapefruit juice during treatment, as these can interfere with the effectiveness of the medication.
Taven 10 is prescribed to lower high cholesterol levels (hyperlipidemia) in patients who do not achieve adequate results through diet and lifestyle changes alone. It contains atorvastatin, a medication from the lipid-lowering drug group. By reducing cholesterol, Taven 10 also helps manage the risk of heart attacks, strokes, angina, and related cardiovascular conditions. It is suitable for both adults and children aged 10 years or older.
Before starting Taven 10, inform your doctor if you have any medical conditions such as liver, kidney, lung, or heart problems. Mention if you have diabetes, thyroid disorders, or a family history of muscle-related conditions. Additionally, let your doctor know if you are taking antibiotics (such as fusidic acid) for an infection. This medication should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Taven 10 may increase blood sugar levels, particularly in diabetic patients, and could affect liver function. Therefore, regular monitoring of blood sugar and liver function is recommended during treatment. Common side effects include nasal passage inflammation, throat discomfort, muscle pain, joint pain, back pain, constipation, nausea, and headache. Contact your doctor if these symptoms worsen or if you experience severe, unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness accompanied by fever.
