Flupentixol and Melitracen tablets are indicated for the treatment of various depressive and anxiety-related conditions, including:
- Generalized anxiety and depressive disorders
- Apathy and lack of motivation
- Psychogenic depression
- Neurotic depression and masked depression
- Psychosomatic conditions associated with anxiety and apathy
- Menopausal mood disturbances
- Dysphoria and depression in individuals with a history of alcohol or drug abuse
This combination unites two clinically established agents:
- Flupentixol, a neuroleptic with intrinsic antidepressant and anti-anxiety activity in low doses
- Melitracen, a thymoleptic antidepressant with stimulating effects in mild to moderate depression
The synergistic effect results in improved mood, reduced anxiety, and increased motivation. Peak blood levels are typically achieved within 4 hours of oral dosing. The half-lives are approximately 35 hours for flupentixol and 19 hours for melitracen. No significant pharmacokinetic interactions occur between the two ingredients.
