Theovent-SR is used to:
- Control acute asthma attacks
- Manage chronic asthma (both symptom relief and prevention)
- Control night-time asthma and early morning wheezing
- Treat chronic obstructive lung diseases (like chronic bronchitis and emphysema)
- Manage sudden worsening of chronic obstructive lung disease
- Control apnea (pauses in breathing) in premature babies
Theovent-SR contains theophylline, a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles and reduces airway sensitivity. It also strengthens the diaphragm, making breathing easier.
