Epilepsy:
- Monotherapy: For adults and children aged 6 years and above, Topmate is indicated for the treatment of generalized tonic-clonic and partial seizures (with or without secondary generalization).
- Adjunctive Therapy: For adults and children over 2 years who are not adequately controlled with standard antiepileptic drugs, it’s used for partial seizures, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome-associated seizures, and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
Migraine Prophylaxis:
- Indicated in adults with frequent and severe migraine attacks that interfere with daily life. Therapy continuation should be reviewed every six months.
Topmate 50 mg is an anti-epileptic drug used for the treatment of epilepsy and migraine prophylaxis. It is prescribed as both monotherapy and adjunctive therapy, depending on the patient’s age and the nature of their seizures.
