Varizil IV 500mg/100ml Infusion (Metronidazole) is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial and parasitic infections. It should be taken with food, and the prescribed dose should be followed strictly. Even if symptoms improve, the full course of treatment should be completed.
Indications of Varizil 500 mg/100 ml:
Varizil 500 mg/100 ml is indicated for the treatment of the following conditions:
- Prevention of post-operative infections due to anaerobic bacteria, especially species of bacteroides and anaerobic streptococci.
- Treatment of septicaemia, bacteraemia, peritonitis, brain abscess, pelvic abscess, pelvic cellulitis, and post-operative wound infections caused by anaerobes.
- Urogenital trichomoniasis.
- Bacterial vaginosis (also known as non-specific vaginitis).
- All forms of amoebiasis (intestinal, extra-intestinal disease, and asymptomatic cyst passers).
- Giardiasis.
- Acute ulcerative gingivitis.
- Anaerobically infected leg ulcers and pressure sores.
- Acute dental infections due to anaerobic organisms.
- Antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis.
