- It is primarily used in adults who have symptoms of chronic (long-term) heart failure, have recently been hospitalised, or require intravenous (IV) medications.

Heart failure is a medical condition in which the heart cannot pump blood efficiently to meet the body’s needs. Several underlying problems—such as coronary artery disease, abnormal heart rhythms, congenital heart defects, diabetes, and thyroid disorders, as well as long-term high blood pressure—can weaken the heart muscle and impair its ability to function properly.
Common symptoms of heart failure include difficulty breathing, a fast or irregular heartbeat, swelling in the legs or ankles, and persistent tiredness. Individuals with conditions like diabetes, thyroid imbalances, anaemia, or emphysema, as well as those who smoke or are overweight, have a higher likelihood of developing heart failure.
 Vericiguat is used to reduce the risk of death and the need for hospitalization in adults with heart failure. Heart failure is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump blood as effectively as it should.

Sometimes, Vericiguat may cause hypotension, anaemia, dizziness, and light-headedness as side effects. Most of these side effects are temporary, do not require medical attention, and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor.
Before taking Vericiguat, inform your doctor about all your allergies to medicines or food. Vericiguat can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. Using effective contraceptive methods is recommended while on therapy with Vericiguat. Breastfeeding is usually not advised during this treatment.
