Verivas 5 is used to manage adults with long-term heart failure who have recently had an increase in heart failure symptoms
Verivas 5 is prescribed for adults with chronic heart failure who have recently been hospitalized or required intravenous (IV) therapy, and who have an ejection fraction (the percentage of blood pumped out with each heartbeat) below 45%. It helps lower the risk of death and reduces the likelihood of future hospitalizations.
Verivas 5 contains Vericiguat, a soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, enhancing circulation, and easing the workload on the heart—an important benefit for individuals living with long-term heart failure.
Do Not Take Verivas 5 If:
- You are allergic to Vericiguat or any ingredient in this medicine.
Use With Caution If You:
- Have severe liver impairment
- Have advanced kidney disease or require dialysis
- Have low blood pressure (symptoms include dizziness or fainting)
- Have a known intolerance to certain sugars
- Always consult your doctor before starting this medicine.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
- Pregnancy: Verivas 5 should not be used during pregnancy, as its effects on the unborn baby are unknown.
- Breastfeeding: It is not recommended while breastfeeding because it is unclear whether Vericiguat passes into breast milk.
Use in Children
- Verivas 5 is not recommended for individuals under 18 years old, as safety and effectiveness have not been established.
Possible Side Effects
