Acyclovir 5%Â is –
- An antiviral medicine used to treat viral infections of the skin such as herpes infection of the mouth, eyelids, and eyes, genital herpes (pain and blisters in private parts), and cold sores caused by the herpes simplex virus.
- It is also used to treat chickenpox, and shingles (herpes zoster).
Virux 5% Cream. It contains Acyclovir, which is an antiviral medication. It is primarily used for the treatment of cold sores caused by the Herpes simplex virus in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age with immunodeficiency. It can also help speed up the healing process of the sores and reduce the duration of pain.
Cold sores are infections caused by the Herpes simplex virus, typically appearing around the mouth. Symptoms of cold sores include the presence of small, fluid-filled lesions (cold sores), sore lips, ulcers, blisters, or rashes on the skin.
Before using Virux 5% Cream, it’s important to inform your doctor if you have a weakened immune system, if you have cold sores inside your mouth, or if you experience frequent episodes of cold sores (more than 4 times a year). It’s worth noting that Virux 5% Cream is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is considered clearly necessary. Additionally, it is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk.
