Description

Vitigo is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used for:

  • The topical, short-term, and non-continuous chronic treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis in non-immunocompromised adult and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older.
  • The topical treatment of nonsegmental vitiligo in adult and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older.

Ruxolitinib is indeed indicated for the treatment of certain hematologic conditions. The key indications include:

  1. Myelofibrosis (MF):
    • Ruxolitinib is used to treat patients with intermediate or high-risk myelofibrosis, a rare type of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and leads to an enlarged spleen and symptoms like fatigue, pain, and weight loss.
  2. Polycythemia Vera (PV):
    • Ruxolitinib is indicated for the control of hematocrit levels in patients with polycythemia vera who have had an inadequate response to or are intolerant of hydroxyurea. Polycythemia vera is a condition where the body produces too many red blood cells, which increases the thickness of the blood and raises the risk of clotting events.
