Diclofenac Sodium
- Rheumatology: Inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatism, chronic evolutive polyarthritis, ankylosing spondylarthritis, osteoarthritis, spondylarthritis, acute gout, and peri-articular rheumatic disorders.
- Surgery and Traumatology: Sprains, bruises, dislocations, fractures, soft tissue injuries, surgical interventions.
- Obstetrics and Gynecology: Primary dysmenorrhea, episiotomy, adnexitis, endometritis, parametritis, salpingitis, mastitis.
- Otorhinolaryngology: Pre-operative medication for the prevention of pain, inflammation, and swelling.
- Dentistry: Post-operative and post-traumatic pain, inflammation, and swelling.
- Other indications: Prevention of pain and treatment of inflammation and swelling in patients operated in the urogenital tract, renal, and biliary colic.
Diclofenac sodium: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Used to treat mild to severe painful conditions such as joint or back pain, gout attacks, kidney stone pain, injuries, fractures, or trauma.
- Also used in hospital settings to prevent or treat pain following an operation.
- Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) and prostaglandin synthesis in vitro.
- Reduces prostaglandins in peripheral tissues, which sensitize nerves and potentiate pain and inflammation mediators.
- Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Not suitable for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age.
