Xylometazoline Hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic agent with alpha-adrenergic activity that constricts blood vessels, reducing nasal congestion and making breathing easier for those with colds.
Sodium Cromoglicate works locally on the nasal mucosa to prevent allergic reactions by inhibiting the release of histamine and other mediators from sensitized mast cells. It does not block the antigen-antibody binding but prevents the release of allergic substances. It also has a mild inhibitory effect on late-phase allergic reactions.
