Zolivox is an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections, particularly infections of the lungs (pneumonia), skin, and soft tissues. It should be taken regularly at a fixed time, with or without food, exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Completing the full course is essential, even if symptoms improve earlier, to prevent relapse or antibiotic resistance.
Uses
- Severe bacterial infections
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Hospital-acquired (nosocomial) pneumonia
- Skin and skin structure infections
Adults: The dose and duration vary depending on the infection, typically 400–600 mg every 12 hours for 7–28 days, as directed by a physician.
Children: Dose is weight- and age-dependent and should be determined by a doctor.
Elderly & Renal Impairment: No routine dose adjustment is usually required.
