- Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN)
- Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (PNP)
Mirogabalin belongs to the class of gamma amino acids and their derivatives.
It selectively binds to the α2δ subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). This reduces calcium influx and inhibits neurotransmitter release from presynaptic neurons, decreasing central nervous system (CNS) hyperexcitability.
- Rapid absorption after oral intake, with a time to maximum plasma concentration of 0.5-1.5 hours.
- Plasma protein binding is about 25%.
- Excretion: 99% via kidneys, 1% via feces.
Half-life: 2-4.9 hours.
