Nitrofix SR 2.6 Tablet is used to prevent and treat angina (chest pain) caused by coronary artery disease. It helps the heart receive enough oxygen by relaxing blood vessels and reducing its workload.
Nitrofix SR contains Glyceryl Trinitrate, a vasodilator, which relaxes blood vessels, improves blood flow, and lowers the oxygen demand of the heart. This reduces chest pain and prevents angina attacks
1. Sublingual Tablet (0.5 mg)
Place one tablet under the tongue at the first sign of angina.
The dose may be repeated every 5 minutes until pain is relieved.
Maximum: 3 tablets within 15 minutes.
If chest pain persists after 3 tablets, seek immediate medical attention.
2. Sustained Release Tablet
Dosage must be individualized based on patient response and angina severity.
2.6 mg: 1 tablet twice daily before meals (morning & noon).
If required, dose may be increased to 2–3 tablets twice daily.
6.4 mg: 1 tablet twice daily or as directed by the physician.
