Ticacard, when co-administered with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in adult patients with:
- Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS).
- A history of myocardial infarction (MI) who are at high risk of developing an atherothrombotic event.

Ticacard 90mg Tablet is an antiplatelet drug (blood thinner) primarily used to:
- Prevent heart attacks and strokes in people at high risk of heart disease.
- Prevent blood clots in individuals with acute coronary syndrome (when the heart doesn’t get enough oxygen), especially those who have had stents placed in their coronary arteries.
- Reduce the risk of heart attack, which can occur when blood flow to the heart is blocked by a clot. This blockage is often caused by plaque accumulation in the arteries.
Ticagrelor, the active ingredient in Ticacard 90, prevents blood clot formation by inhibiting platelet aggregation.
- Platelets are blood cells that help stop bleeding by clumping together to form clots. In people with a high risk of heart attack or stroke, platelets may stick together inside narrowed arteries, forming clots that block blood flow to the heart or brain.
- Ticacard 90 slows the clotting action by making platelets less sticky, thereby reducing the risk of clot formation.

- Not for use in individuals with active bleeding or those with a history of bleeding in the brain or issues with blood flow.
- If you experience any allergic reactions to medicines or food, notify your doctor before starting Ticacard 90.
- Do not stop taking Ticacard 90 suddenly without consulting your doctor, as discontinuing the medication may increase the risk of a heart attack.
- Inform your doctor before undergoing any surgeries or starting new medications.
- Ticacard 90 should not be used before or after heart bypass surgery.
- Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before using this medication.
Ticacard 90 may interact with other medications. Always inform your doctor about any drugs you are currently taking, especially:
- Blood thinners (e.g., aspirin, warfarin)
- Pain relievers (e.g., ibuprofen)
- Antidepressants (e.g., citalopram, nefazodone)
- Antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin, rifampicin)
