- Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that relaxes and widens blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart.
Together, these medicines help improve blood circulation and effectively control blood pressure.
This medicine may cause symptomatic hypotension, elevated potassium levels, or rarely acute renal failure. Kidney function and serum potassium should be monitored periodically.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before using this medicine. During treatment, your doctor may regularly monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels.

- It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, especially when standing up suddenly. Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.
- Avoid alcohol, as it may increase the blood pressure-lowering effect and worsen dizziness.
- Swelling of the feet or ankles may occur. Elevating your legs while sitting may help. Consult your doctor if swelling persists.
- Avoid use during pregnancy, while trying to conceive, or during breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.
- Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it at a fixed time each day is preferable.
- Medicines affecting the renin-angiotensin system may cause fetal harm when used during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Treatment should be stopped immediately if pregnancy occurs.
- It is not known whether amlodipine or olmesartan passes into breast milk. Breastfeeding mothers should consult their physician before use.
