Benzapen is indicated for the following:
- Penicillin-sensitive infections where high initial blood levels are not required.
- Prophylaxis of penicillin-sensitive secondary infections, especially in children (e.g., continuous prophylaxis for rheumatic fever and streptococcal infections).
- Prophylaxis of streptococcal impetigo.
- Treatment of acute otitis media.
- Treatment of syphilis.
- Treatment of diphtheria carriers.
