Cefixime works by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), blocking the final step of bacterial cell wall synthesis. This disrupts peptidoglycan formation, weakens the bacterial cell wall, and leads to bacterial death.
Cefim-3 30ml contains Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is effective against infections of the respiratory tract (such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis), urinary tract, ear, throat, soft tissues, and certain sexually transmitted diseases (e.g., gonorrhea).
It may be taken with or without food, though taking it with meals or milk can help reduce stomach discomfort. To ensure the best results, take this medicine at evenly spaced intervals and at the same time each day. Complete the full prescribed course, even if you feel better before finishing, to prevent recurrence or antibiotic resistance.
