Lomefloxacin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also used in infections of urinary tract, tonsils, sinus, nose, throat, female genital organs, skin & soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).
Lomeflox 400mg Tablet belongs to the group of antibiotic medicines called fluoroquinolones indicated in the treatment of mild to moderate bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections and bronchitis. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body.
Lomeflox 400mg Tablet contains Lomefloxacin, which works by interfering with the activity of topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase, which are necessary for the transcription and replication of bacterial DNA. Thereby, Lomeflox 400mg Tablet fights bacteria in the body and treats bacterial infection.
In some cases, Lomeflox 400mg Tablet may cause side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.
Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Lomeflox 400mg Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years as it might interfere with bone development. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side effects/interactions.
