Cloxacillin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.
- Treatment of infections caused by Gram-positive organisms, including β-lactamase producing Staphylococci.
- Specific infections include:
- Skin and soft tissue infections: Boils, abscesses, cellulitis, infected wounds, burns, otitis media and externa, protection of skin graft, and other skin infections like ulcers, eczema, acne, etc.
- Respiratory tract infections: Pneumonia, lung abscess, empyema, sinusitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis.
- Other infections caused by sensitive organisms include osteomyelitis, enteritis, endocarditis, urinary tract infection, meningitis, and septicemia.
