Appras 5 is used in the management and prevention of thrombotic cardiovascular conditions, including:
- Acute coronary syndromes (ACS)
- Unstable angina (UA)
- Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI)
- ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
- Stent thrombosis
- Stroke prevention
Appras 5 contains prasugrel, an antiplatelet (blood-thinning) medication that helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots. It is commonly prescribed to patients who have recently experienced a heart attack or severe chest pain and have undergone coronary stent placement. By improving blood flow, it reduces the risk of future cardiovascular events such as a heart attack or stroke.
It is often prescribed along with aspirin for enhanced protection. The medicine can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Continuous use is essential, even if symptoms improve, as stopping it may increase the risk of serious cardiac events.
- Take at the same time daily for best results
- Be cautious while shaving or using sharp objects
- Do not stop the medicine without medical advice
- Inform your doctor about all medications and health conditions
