Aproxi Capsule is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of nausea or vomiting experienced as a side effect of chemotherapy or anti-cancer treatment. It inhibits the signal from reaching the brain which causes the feeling of nausea or vomiting.
Aprepitant is used to prevent nausea and vomiting:
- After chemotherapy
- After surgery
- In combination with other antiemetic medications
For chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting:
- Day 1: 125 mg orally, 1 hour before chemotherapy
- Days 2 & 3: 80 mg orally in the morning
For post-surgery nausea and vomiting:
- 40 mg orally within 3 hours before anesthesia
