Biofol 15mg Tablet neutralizes the harmful effects of cancer medicine methotrexate. It contains calcium folinate, protecting healthy cells from methotrexate toxicity.
Biofol 15mg Tablet 10’s is a detoxifying agent and folic acid analog used in cancer treatment as an antidote to reduce the toxic effects of certain cancer drugs like methotrexate. It can also be used in combination with 5-fluorouracil for cytotoxic therapy in cancer treatment.
The tablet contains calcium folinate (Leucovorin), an active form of vitamin B, which protects healthy cells from the toxic effects of methotrexate while allowing it to target and kill cancer cells. It should be taken as soon as possible after using methotrexate.
Take Biofol 15mg Tablet 10’s as directed by a healthcare professional. Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, rash, vomiting, itching, urticaria or hives, and stomatitis (oral mucositis). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve over time. If they persist, consult your doctor.
Before using Biofol 15mg Tablet 10’s, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Discuss your medical history and current medications with your doctor to avoid any potential negative effects. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if you have pernicious anemia, other forms of megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency, GI toxicity, renal impairment, or a history of seizures.
