Brezofil 400 is used for the prevention and treatment of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps improve breathing by relaxing the airway muscles.
Brezofil 400 contains doxofylline, a theophylline derivative. It works by inhibiting phosphodiesterase enzymes, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow in the lungs.
It should be taken at the same time every day, preferably in the evening after food. Evening dosing helps reduce nocturnal symptoms and maintain symptom control during the day.
Brezofil 400 is contraindicated in patients with:
- Hypersensitivity to doxofylline
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Hypotension
- Lactating women
Overdose may cause severe arrhythmias or seizures, which may be the first signs of intoxication. Immediate medical attention is required. Restarting treatment at a lower dose should only be done on a doctor’s advice.
