Cholecalciferol [Vitamin D3] 200000IU/ml Injection
Prevention:
- Infants (on fortified milk): 100,000 IU every 6 months.
- Nursed infants & children <5 yrs: 200,000 IU every 6 months.
- Adolescents: 200,000 IU every 6 months (especially in winter).
- Pregnancy: 100,000 IU in the 6th–7th month.
- Elderly: 100,000 IU every 3 months.
Treatment: 200,000 IU; repeat every 1–6 months as needed.
D-Rise (Cholecalciferol) helps prevent and treat Vitamin D3 deficiency, especially in individuals with limited sunlight exposure or insufficient dietary intake. It promotes optimal absorption of calcium and phosphate, which is crucial for healthy bones, teeth, and immune function. Additionally, it plays a key role in preventing rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, and pre-eclampsia during pregnancy.
Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) is absorbed in the small intestine, binds to α-globulins, and is transported to the liver, where it’s converted to Calcidiol (25-hydroxyvitamin D3). A second conversion occurs in the kidney to form the active hormone Calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3). This active form binds to Vitamin D receptors (VDRs) in various tissues, enhancing calcium absorption and supporting bone mineralization. Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble, with a half-life of ~50 days, and is excreted via feces and urine.
