Dermex NN | Clobetasol Propionate + Neomycin Sulphate + Nystatin (0.5 mg+5 mg+1 Lac IU)/gm is prescribed for:
- Short-term treatment of stubborn eczema.
- Neurodermatoses.
- Psoriasis (except widespread plaque psoriasis) where secondary bacterial or fungal infections are present, suspected, or likely.
- Other inflammatory skin conditions are unresponsive to weaker corticosteroids.
Dermex NN combines three active agents:
- Clobetasol Propionate: a very potent corticosteroid used to treat severe inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis when weaker steroids are ineffective. Its main effect is reducing inflammation, partly through vasoconstriction and lowering collagen production.
- Neomycin Sulphate: an aminoglycoside antibiotic that works by binding to bacterial ribosomal subunits, disrupting protein synthesis, and causing errors in amino acid incorporation.
- Nystatin: an antifungal that binds to sterols in fungal cell membranes, altering permeability and leading to leakage of cell contents.
